Ingredients You’ll Need:
For the Cake:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
½ cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup boiling water
¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
For the Chocolate Glaze (optional):
½ cup heavy cream
3 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions: How to Make It!
Step 1: Preheat & Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3: Add the Wet Ingredients
Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until the batter is smooth and well combined.
Step 4: Add Boiling Water
Slowly add the boiling water to the batter. It will be thin, but that’s what makes it incredibly moist! Stir until well combined.
Step 5: Fold in Chocolate Chips
Gently fold in the chocolate chips (if using) to the batter.
Step 6: Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 7: Cool & Glaze (Optional)
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
For extra indulgence, make the glaze: Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until just simmering. Remove from heat, add the chopped chocolate and butter, and stir until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over the cooled loaf cake.

Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream for extra indulgence!
